This unique museum was established to explore the importance of religion in people’s lives across the world and through time. Opened in 1993, the museum stands on the site of the medieval Bishop’s Castle. The gallery here explores the world’s six main religions; Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism. There are many hundreds of pieces that represent the best of art and imagery from these faiths.
