The AA Box in Eardisland once stood at Legions Cross and has become a popular attraction in the village. It is dated from the 1920s and believed to be the only such box left in the UK. It was renovated in 1999-2000 and now stands in the car park adjacent to the White Swan coaching inn. The box was found in the garden of the son of an AA man who’d saved it from being scrapped in the 1950s, and renovated using tins of the original black and yellow paint!
