This 1940 hospital air-raid shelter was turned into a museum in 1989. On display are exhibits showing Cirencester and the Cotswolds at War. Themes include wartime civilian life, the home front, medical facilities and evacuation. With room for over 80 people, the shelter was used over 200 times during World War II to protect hospital staff and patients from German bombs. The Museum is run by The Living Memory Historical Association. It opens in the summer only.
