Despite being close to the city of Leicester, the village of Beeby is in a quiet world all of its own. All Saints Church is remarkable for its flat spire, which looks as if has been sawn-off halfway up. Known as the ‘Beeby tub’, local legend has it that two brothers were employed to build the spire but ended up arguing over costs and falling to their deaths, leaving it forever incomplete. Various parts of the church date from the 13th to the 19th centuries.
