Stroud's Bank Gardens provide a green space for visitors and residents right in the town centre. Here well-kept lawns are combined with unusual planting schemes, such as perennial grasses planted with lavender. Visitors to the gardens can also enjoy far-reaching views over Stroud to the Cotswold countryside beyond. Bank Gardens were given to the town by Ernest, George and Hugh Winterbotham in 1930. The gift was in memory of their parents, who had previously owned the gardens.
