Created in 1983, the Bassetlaw Museum has quickly developed into one of the largest and best loved collections of decorative art and antiquities I this area of the world. Run by the local authority and housed in a beautiful 18th Century town house at the centre of Retford, the museum has developed into one of the central social and cultural centres in the area, offering a small art gallery alongside the permanent collection.
