Battlefield Church, or Saint Mary Magdalene was built on the famous battle ground of the Battle of Shrewsbury which took place in 1406. The church is a masterpiece of design, and holds a large collection of panelling, which contains pictures of the King’s of England throughout the Middle Ages. There are a great many other interesting internal features, and this church remains one of the best loved in the district.
