Cheltenham’s Edwardian Baroque Town Hall was built entirely for entertainment and it's still used for that purpose today. Events held here include concerts, dinners, balls, exhibitions, festivals, flower shows, recitals and dances. The sprung maple-wood floors of its enormous Grand Hall are as suited to dances today as they were in 1903 when the building was completed. In 1906, the central spa just left of the entrance hall was added so that residents and visitors could take Cheltenham’s Spa waters without leaving the town centre. It is still in use today.
