I found his museum really interesting as it has a diverse range of exhibits that charts the development of the town from its earliest days as a Roman fort right up to modern times. Inside the museum you are guided around in chronological order and for railway enthusiasts, like me, many linger at the exhibit charting the life and times of Chesterfield native and god of British railways George Stephenson. A most enjoyable day out.
