This medieval church is important for the quality of its Romanesque sculpture contained within. Set on a hillside, its spire is a local landmark. It is constructed of red sandstone and consists of a Twelfth century nave, a Thirteenth century chancel, a Romanesque transept and a timber bellcote. Set into the West wall of the transept is a remarkable Twelfth century Romanesque carved panel of red sandstone. It shows a mysterious simplified figure, which is probably a woman. She is leaning forward slightly with curved arms and wearing a bell shaped skirt. It is impossible to convey the spiritual beauty of this sculpture, you just have to see it!
