Dale House in Coalbrookdale is one of the Darby houses which form part of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. Built in 1717 by Abraham Darby I, Dale House was home to five generations of the Darby family. It was specifically built to overlook the Upper Furnace Pool and its blast furnace. The house has been restored to reflect the period c.1776 when Abraham Darby III was living there. As a Quaker family home, the house is simply furnished. Visitors can see the study in which Abraham Darby III worked while directing the building of the Iron Bridge.
