Derby Gaol invites visitors to take a step back in time to a historic series of prison cells where prisoners would have once languished. This grim exploration of the poor conditions and tortuous surroundings that prisoners were once kept in is brought to life with a range of original artefacts such as gates and actual graffiti still on the cell walls. There are two cells, the debtor’s cell and the condemned cell available to look around.
