Built in 1732 to a James Gibbs design, Kelmarsh Hall is surrounded by its working estate, grazed parkland and beautiful gardens. The Hall’s elegant 18th Century plasterwork is complemented by Nancy Lancaster and John Fowler’s 20th Century decoration in the fashion that became known as the English Country House style. The gardens include a walled garden, rose garden, glasshouse, woodland and lake with herbaceous borders designed principally by Nancy Lancaster, Norah Lindsey and Geoffrey Jellicoe.
