Kirby Hall is an outstanding example of a large, stone-built Elizabethan mansion, begun in 1570 with 17th Century alterations. Indeed, Jane Austen’s ’Mansfield Park’ was filmed here. The fine gardens, recently restored, are home to peacocks. An exhibition and free audio tour is available.
