Acquired by the National Trust in 1934, this excavation site has uncovered a Roman bathhouse and the remains of several Roman buildings. It is assumed that this settlement would have once been a staging post on the famous Roman road of Watling Street, running through the heart of the country. It is the finest excavated site of its type to be discovered in the region.
