The Lower River Avon runs from Evesham to Tewkesbury. At Evesham, it's set among waterside gardens, flood meadows and parkland. Visitors can stroll along the riverside footpath, eat and drink in one of the riverside pubs or restaurants and, in summer, join one of the many boat trips that leaves from Abbey Park Quay. Other attractions include children's play areas, picnic benches and rowing boats for hire. The Lower River Avon was reopened to boats in 1962 by the Lower Avon Navigation Trust after years of neglect.
