The Museum of Cannock Chase site was once home to the Valley Colliery; the training pit for thousands of men beginning their working lives in the local coal industry. The pit has gone and in its place are over 30 acres of green space on the edge of Cannock Chase. Our attractions include nature reserve, exhibitions, special events, coffee shop, gift shop, picnic area, circular walks and a tourist information point, something for everyone to enjoy.
New for 2003 are the toys gallery and ’coal face’ experience.
