A simulated coal mine and magnificent model of the town as it was in 1884 are two of the attractions to be seen in New Mills Heritage and Information Centre. The centre is housed in a refurbished stone-built building of great character next to the bus station and at the top of the path leading down into the Torrs - a rocky river gorge. There is an information point and shop which sells publications, maps and trails and you can buy a cup of tea or coffee.
