The New Victoria Theatre was Europe’s first theatre-in-the-round, seating just under 600 people. With many plays wrote and directed on site, it allows it to really address local issues such as cultural diversity and racism. Built right in the heart of Staffordshire, in between Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent, it has a vastly diverse audience. Not only is there the theatre, but a respectable bistro and bar, art gallery and urban-wildlife garden. Outside, there is a plaque of William Shakespeare, made in Lambeth in the 18th century.
