Newark Town Hall Museum and Gallery is one of the most important public collections that one will find in this area. The Town Hall has stood in place since it was built in 1776, and in 1999 it became a registered museum and opened public access to the Grade 1 Listed building and the treasures that it contains. Amongst the large series of exhibitions is an extensive art collection, ceremonial items, civic gifts and the town charter.
