Newent Lake, with its riverside walk and adjoining park, is a beauty spot situated in the heart of the town. It’s set in the grounds of the former Newent Court and was created from the fish ponds of medieval monks almost a thousand years ago. A leisurely stroll around the lake takes about 20 minutes. You will pass the millennium fountain and an island which is used as an annual nesting place for swans and ducks. Stop at the bridge and watch the huge fish basking in the shallows.
