Tewkesbury's Roses Theatre offers a varied programme of music, drama, children's theatre, opera, ballet, comedy and also film. In fact, this is the only major independent cinema between Bristol and Birmingham. The cinema auditorium has Dolby Surround Sound and the theatre stage is proscenium arch with a full fly tower. This houses the cinema screen, which is lowered on winches for screenings. The Roses Theatre was built in 1974 on the site of the old art deco Sabrina Cinema.
