Burial mound or sacrifice site - no one's quite sure what Guiting Power Round Barrow was for, although it's the largest of its kind in the Cotswolds. The two-feet high 20-metre diameter mound was completely excavated and rebuilt in the 1990s. At the time, archeologists found fewer bone fragments than would be expected for a cemetery, prompting the belief that the site may have been used as a platform for ritual sacrifices instead.
