The museum is the perfect introduction to England’s smallest county. The “Welcome to Rutland” gallery is a guide to the history and an extensive rural life collection. There is a temporary exhibition programme for local artists to display their work. The site itself is also remarkable as the museum is set in an 18th Century riding school built for the Rutland Fencible Cavalry.
