The former house of Samuel Johnson is now a museum telling the story of his life. Samuel Johnson famous for his ’Dictionary of English’ (published in 1755) was born in Lichfield and every year the city celebrates his birthday. Part of his former house has been transformed to give visitors an impression of what the house would have been like when Johnson lived there. There is also a bookshop on the ground floor. The museum is open daily with a small admission charge.
