This clock is one of Stroud's most distinctive landmarks. It stands at the junction of Russell Street, George Street and London Road, surrounded by some of the town's finest buildings. It is named after Williams Thomas Sim, a retired grocer and civic leader, who bequested it to the town before his death in 1917. Completed in 1921, the neoclassical 24-foot tall monument is built from Bath stone. The architect was A Murray-Smith.
