The church in Stretford is dedicated to 4th Century St Cosmas and St Damian, the patron saints of physicians. The building has twin naves and chancels, the first 12th Century and the second, 13th Century divided by a long screen of the 1500s. Look for the shrine of St Cosmas and St Damian constructed in the 15th Century from an earlier coffin lid. The church was declared redundant in the 1970s and is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. A patronal festival service is held here every September.
