Hawling parish church is mostly 18th Century, but the pretty tower is around 500 years old. Early perpendicular in style, it has embattlements and gargoyles. Other surviving older features include the south door to the nave, which although 18th century still has the original Norman keeled jamb shafts. Inside the church, there is a set of beautiful 17th-century brasses to the Stratford family, Lords of the manor of Hawling and Guiting. The church was restored in 1878.
