Situated on an elevated position in the quaint village of Branston-by-Belvoir, close to Waltham-on-the-Wolds, St Guthlac’s Church is a beautiful building. The eye is immediately drawn to the ornate spire which rises high into the sky and well-tended graveyard which is picturesque in itself. Inside, the church possesses plenty of carvings along with a Romanesque font and a gilded wooden screen which depicts the Last Supper. The church tower is covered in intricate gargoyles and there is a ‘scratch dial’ or sundial carved into one wall.
