St Mary and St David Church
Kilpeck, Herefordshire HR2 9DN - England, UK

Map
Kilpeck is the most complete Norman parish church in England, having remained almost unchanged for 900 years. The remarkable south doorway with its grotesque carvings is world famous. It is said that the gaps in the continuous corbel table around the building, which is carved with all manner of beasts, was caused by the Victorians who removed those which they deemed unsuitable. Part of the nave is Saxon and there is a 19th Century restored bell-cote but the rest of this red sandstone church dates from the 12th Century.
