Eardisland’s church is dedicated to St Mary the Virgin with the original structure built in the 12th Century. The high porch is 14th Century with a timbered roof and stone seat and the piscina is of the same period. A rood screen divides the nave from the 18th Century tower and the East window depicts the four British saints. The Victorian architect, Henry Curzon, undertook restoration including work to the chancel, organ and nave roof, and the ancient stoup was sawn in half to fit in extra pews.
