St Mary the Virgin Church
Church Street, St Briavels, Gloucestershire GL15 - England, UK

Map
The Church of St Mary the Virgin in St Briavels was built by 13th Century Normans. The church, probably on an earlier Celtic site, was built of local Forest stone. Inside is some stonework of note; in the South aisle you’ll find an impressive monument of the recumbent figures of William Warren, his wife and children. A 14th Century tomb recess has a slab made for Robert, Abbot of Lire in France, who died here in 1272. And the Norman font is very unusual, having a stone frill.
