If you are a fan of the radio serial The Archers, the quiet village of Hanbury is a must-see, as it is the village which Ambridge is based on. The bells of the village church, St Mary's, are actually heard on many of the episodes. The lovely saxon church is set on a hill with panoramic views of the Worcestershire countryside surrounding it. It was substantially built in the 12th Century using much of the original stone. The village itself is well worth a visit, sporting many old pubs with excellent real ale, cider and home cooked meals.
