St Mary’s Church is shared between the two small villages of Chadwell and Wycomb, located some four miles outside of Melton Mowbray. This church is unusual in the area as it looks different from the many other ironstone churches dotting the countryside, with a smaller tower and main building. This 12th Century church is extremely well-preserved for its age and three bells remain in the tower, although they are no longer in use. Inside, a Romanesque font possesses some extremely interesting carvings which are notable for their simplistic designs.
