The parish church of St. Mary the Virgin in the little town of Ripple, is built of limestone with stone-slabbed roofs. The original building, of 1195, has been very little altered. The church is open in daylight and it is well worth looking inside. In the chancel are fourteen beautiful old stalls with moulded elbow rests and Fifteenth century carved misereres. The misereres, which represent the twelve months, together with the sun and moon, are in excellent condition. The south windows of the chancel are white and gold Fifteenth century glass, including some very beautiful figures.
