The font at St Michael and All Angels Church, Castle Frome, dated about 1170, is the church’s greatest treasure and attracts visitors from all around the world. It is the work of the Hereford School of Carvers and said to be one of the finest examples of Romanesque sculpture in England. Standing on three crouching figures, it shows the baptism of Christ with John the Baptist, the hand of God, a dove representing the Holy Spirit and the symbols of the four evangelists.
