St Michael’s Church dates from the 13th Century. Between the squat square tower and the chancel is a modern nave with a new arch at each end. In a recess in the chancel wall is the effigy of a woman of the 14th Century, thought to be Clarissa, a descendant of Robert de Ewyas, her feet on a lion and her hands clasping a heart while three medieval heads look down. A framed reminder that Harold de Ewyas gifted the church to monks hangs at the back of the church.
