The church of St. Peter at Besford has the best medieval timber-framing of Worcestershire churches. The church consists of a chancel with a modern north vestry, nave, south porch and west bellcote with two medieval bells. The old chancel, of the early Thirteenth century, is the earliest part. The timber-framed nave and the south porch were built in the late Fourteenth century. The chancel’s internal timbering is worth seeing as it is original, massive and features a band of vine carving. The church lies in a peaceful area with beautiful views of the Malvern and Bredon Hills.
