Wormbridge and its church were once in the possession of the Knights Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem. The church was partly rebuilt by the Victorians although the entrance door is Norman. The Norman priest’s doorway is visible in the chancel wall. There is some notable medieval stained glass in the chancel showing the Madonna, Herod and eight panels of saints. The church interior has some fine woodwork, a screen, a Jacobean table and a black pulpit with an 18th century carving.
