Looked after by the National Trust, The Greyfriars is a 15th Century merchant’s house in the middle of Worcester’s bustling city centre. Originally built in 1480, the timber-framed building was extended in the 17th and 18th Centuries. The Greyfriars was earmarked for demolition in the 1930s but was rescued by brother and sister Matley and Elsie Moore. Inside, visitors can see interesting panelling and textiles, often recycled from other buildings. In the delightful walled garden, which originally contained a row of slums, recycled materials have been used to landscape the grounds.
