The Guildhall in Leicester is one of the best-preserved timber framed halls in the country, dating back well over six hundred years. The hall has been used for a great many purposes during its long life including a meeting place for the Guild of Corpus Christi, a place of trading, a seat of power and a library house. The fascinating structure is open to the public and has several exhibitions charting its history on display.
