This famous Model Village is a replica of Bourton-on-the-Water, one of the Cotswolds’ most beautiful villages. Its churches, shops, manor houses, cottages and distinctive stone bridges on the River Windrush have all been recreated to one-ninth scale. Constructed from local stone, the model village was built in the 1930s by local craftsmen, who copied the village down to the last detail, even including a model of the model village and adding choir music to a miniature church of St Lawrence.
