St Dubricius is said to have been born here and it is believed that an earlier church, which stood on the site, was once dedicated to him. Records held at Hereford Cathedral tell how 1318 pilgrims visited the Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was housed in the crypt of Madley Church. The church is rich with medieval wall paintings, stained glass and choir stalls. The tower and crypt can be visited by arrangement.
