With more than 75,000 visitors a year, Bourton-on-the-Water is the Cotswold's most visited village. The main attraction must be the Village Green, which has a river running through it and toffee-coloured houses surrounding it. The river was diverted this way in the 17th century to power Bourton’s mills, one of which is now the Motor Museum, and the village has never looked back. Bourton-on-the-water has featured on the BBC series, The Perfect Village.
