The 18th Century water mill at Mortimer’s Cross is still in working order. The mill, with its rare 19th Century water-powered dust extractor, is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is an English Heritage site. The ground floors are accessible to wheelchair users but there are some pretty steep ladder steps up to the first floor! The mill, and museum of the Battle of Mortimer’s Cross (1461) is open to visitors every Sunday from April to September. Other events which take place here include coracle racing on the mill stream.
