The Waterworks Museum in Hereford presents the story of drinking water since early mechanical lifting devises two thousand years ago, with replicas on display for you to try. Nearly all these machines were the last working examples in the world and there is a one of the widest selection of operating pumping engines in Britain. There’s something at the museum for all ages from huge working engines to a children’s trail. And you can find out what life was like for a boy learning his trade at a Victorian waterworks.
