Here is the world's tallest yew hedge. Planted in 1720, this architectural shrub separates Cirencester town centre from the 3000 acres of Cirencester Park. In front of the yew is a stone gateway, dating from the mid-18th Century and made out of rock-faced limestone. Its main feature is a rusticated arch crowned with three ball finials. The gate is the original one. The yew hedge is trimmed every July and this event has featured in the national press.
