Britain’s first National Nature Reserve comprises the magnificent Torridon mountains which rise dramatically from the open land which separate them. Beinn Eighe is one of these giants, reaching a height of 1010 metres. An expedition to the top is for experienced hillwalkers only but there are numerous low-level walks in the area, details of which are available from the the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve visitor centre on the A832 5km north-west of Kinlochewe. The reserve also has stands of ancient Scots Pine particularly around the stunning Loch Maree.
