One of Scotland’s great historic castles, Inveraray Castle sits majestically on the edge of Loch Fyne. The castle has a long history since it was designed and built in the 18th century. It was once the stronghold of the powerful Campbell clan and is still the home of the Duke of Argyll. The castle is well proportioned with a conical turret on each corner. It displays a mixture of architectural styles including Baroque, Gothic and Palladian. A shop situated in the castle sells traditional Scottish gifts.
