A minor road from Laide leads to a wide beach of pristine sands at Mellon Udrigle. It regularly wins awards for its beach management and outstanding water quality. The views are outstanding and on a good day you’ll have a spectacular view of the Summer Isles. And at the western end of the beach there’s a 4km circular walk to a cairn on the point. Continue across and down to Opinan Bay and return to Mellon Udrigle along an old peat track.
